About Gomde UK
Gomde UK is an international centre for the study and practice of Tibetan Buddhism, founded by Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche in 2009. We are a part of the wider organisation Shedrub Mandala, whose main centre is Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling Monastery in Nepal. With Rinpoche’s support and guidance, our purpose is to offer authentic Buddhist teachings and to provide a supportive environment for learning, reflection and meditation.
We have a small resident group living at Lindholme all year round, supported by many volunteers. Throughout the year we host teachings, seminars and retreats with masters of the lineage, senior monks and nuns and teachers from the wider organisation.
Rinpoche’s vision for Gomde UK is that it will be a place for gathering and become a major international Buddhist centre. To fulfil Rinpoche’s aspiration, we received planning permission for major architectural developments (including a Temple) in 2016; building is now underway.
